Requirement for Superset Consulting A major financial services organization sought to replace an industry-leading BI solution within a key product line with an Open Source alternative, specifically Apache Superset, to achieve significant reductions in licensing costs.
Deliverables NobleProg facilitated multiple project meetings with the client to fully grasp the requirements, scope, risks, and technical environment. This understanding formed the basis for a comprehensive Statement of Work to guide and monitor the project. Our lead consultant focused on aligning the existing data architecture with the specific reporting needs of each report type. Recommendations were made to modify data stores to maximize the potential of Superset while ensuring optimal performance, with the consultant providing direct guidance to the implementation team. After optimizing the data store and pipeline, our consultants began constructing and deploying a diverse range of reports, addressing both existing requirements and new requests from the business and its customers. To meet specific data presentation needs, custom plug-ins were developed to enable more interactive features, such as drill-down capabilities.
Outcome The consultants have been developing new dashboards while simultaneously ensuring that sufficient knowledge is transferred to the client's organization to support ongoing maintenance of dashboards and reports.
The project remains in progress and has been well-received by both the client's business stakeholders and their end users. To highlight the project's success, the scope has been expanded to cover additional products and end clients.
