Superset Data Visualisation and Dashboard Consulting Requirement
A major financial services firm sought to transition from an industry-leading BI solution in one of its core products to an Open Source alternative (Superset), aiming to significantly reduce licensing expenses.
Deliverables NobleProg engaged in multiple project meetings with the client to thoroughly grasp the requirements, scope, potential risks, and technical environment. Following this analysis, we developed a comprehensive Statement of Work to guide and monitor project progress. Our lead consultant focused on aligning the existing data architecture with specific reporting needs for various report types. Recommendations were made to optimize data stores for efficient Superset usage and enhanced performance, with expert guidance provided to the team implementing these adjustments. After optimizing the data store and pipeline, our consultants began developing and deploying a range of reports based on both established requirements and new requests from business stakeholders and customers. To facilitate the requested data presentation, custom plug-ins were developed to enable more interactive features, such as drill-down capabilities.
Outcome The consultants have continued to build new dashboards while ensuring that sufficient knowledge transfer takes place to allow the client organization to maintain reports and dashboards independently. The project remains active and has been favorably received by both the client’s business units and their end-users. Demonstrating its success, the initiative has been expanded to encompass additional products and client groups.
