Course Outline

Module 1: Overview & Architecture

Examine the Dynamics 365 ecosystem and the key components of the Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (FO) software. Understand the D365FO architecture, along with relevant design and deployment considerations.

Module 2: Developer Tools

Utilize Lifecycle Services to manage system implementations. Customize D365FO using Visual Studio, handle source code and artifacts through version control, and employ various development tools to complete tasks.

Module 3: Solution Design

Identify necessary application stack components and server architecture. Implement Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and design a comprehensive solution for D365FO.

Module 4: AOT Elements

Develop forms, create and extend tables, and build Extended Data Types (EDT) and enumerations. Additionally, create classes and extend Application Object Tree (AOT) elements.

Module 5: Code Development & Testing

Write X++ code and develop object-oriented solutions. Extend D365 FO functionality, explore testing frameworks and tools, and perform unit testing.

Module 6: Data Migration

Explore migration tools and methodologies, plan a migration strategy, and prepare data for transfer. This includes a lab session on Data Export/Import using Data Entities.

Module 7: Frameworks

Implement core D365 FO functionality using standard frameworks.

Module 8: Integration

Recognize data integration patterns and scenarios, and implement integration concepts and solutions. Set up recurring integrations, connect D365FO with Microsoft Azure, troubleshoot integration errors, and utilize the Data Management Package API.

Module 9: Reporting

Understand the capabilities and limitations of D365FO reporting tools. Design, create, and refine Dynamics Reports and workspaces. Furthermore, develop data sources that connect to external data stores.

Module 10: Security & Performance

Use performance tools and LCS Environment Monitoring tools to optimize system performance. Implement role-based security policies, apply fundamental optimization techniques, and enhance batch, user interface, integration, and report performance. The module concludes with a lab on Async & Sandbox Functionality.
